It’s been a week of getting ready.

On Saturday many of our Year 3 pupils will be making their First Holy Communion. They have been preparing in after school sessions as well as some work in school. This week, they sent emails wishing each other ‘good luck’. The weather is set fair and it will be a joyous and holy day, as always.

Our Summer Fair Committee have also been very busy. There is only one week left until the big day. All support, in whatever way you can, is greatly appreciated.

In school, we’ve been getting ready for our ESTYN visitors. Thank you to all who completed the parent survey and remember there is a meeting for parents to speak to the inspectors on Monday at 3.30pm in the school hall.

Despite, the unusually warm weather, there’s been a lot going on in school, this week. On Wednesday, Years 3 and 4 worked with artist Tim Pugh. It was an environmental project highlighting the problem of plastics in the ocean. They created beautiful sea creatures from discarded plastics.

Also on Wednesday, Reception class were out and about in Colwyn Bay exploring the Heritage Trail. It was wonderful to see some of our youngest children learning more about the history of their home town.

Finally, on Friday, we welcomed John Roberts and Simon Sinclair from the RNLI to talk to Nursery and Reception about this vital charity. They told the children about the work they do and how to stay safe in and near the water (especially in this very hot weather). We continue to welcome and encourage visitors to come to talk to our children about careers and volunteer work. It is so important that they are aware of the exciting range of things they can do when they grow up.

Thank you for sending your child to school everyday, especially on Thursday, when it was so hot. I know several schools in Conwy closed and others had very low attendance but you all kept going.
